Fraserburgh Library
Fraserburgh was the sixth Library (after Peterhead, Westhill, Ellon, Inverurie and Stonehaven) that we were asked to create interior designs for.
Fraserburgh Library is an impressive building with two large inter-connecting rooms downstairs for the majority of books as well as a large L-shaped room upstairs which is used for IT and Local History.
The design
Once again we were asked to create visually-arresting designs throughout which maintained the look and feel of the other Libraries but gave a personal stamp of Fraserburgh and it’s history. We did this by creating a new colour-scheme and by using images specific to Fraserburgh’s history as well as works from local poets and writers.
The work continues throughout the rooms and windows. The result is a cohesive whole which gives the library a sense of place and identity.
