War Artists – Their Role in the Great War
War Artist was one of the first exhibitions created under the newly formed Creative Learning Team of Aberdeen City Council.
It was an exhibition of new art work created in response to the Artists and Writers of the First World War and coincided with the Centenary commemorations of 2014.

The design
We were asked to produce posters, a leaflet, invitations and exhibition panels and signage for the exhibition. We took our cue from the artwork itself, leaving this largely to take centre stage and to inform us of colour schemes and layout. The typesetting was done using a modern front which has nod to the typefaces used at the time.
The exhibition was a great success and we were delighted to be involved in it.
