Grampian Hospitals Arts Trust

After our success with designing the way-finding and information system for the Emergency Care Centre at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Grampian Hospitals Art Trust (who were instrumental in allowing us to pitch for the aforementioned projects) asked us to look at designing a website.

The design

Key to the success of the project was to create a system that was very easy to use and adaptable by staff who weren’t necessarily adept at using content management systems. For this we turned to wordpress using a simple layout.

The actual structure of the layout is clean and clear – this allows imagery to work without visual conflict. This works very well – the key areas are easy to update, including the creation of posts, the alteration of pages and categories and the ability to add images both within posts and on the front page. Adding a banner images to the front page with ease is important to GHAT as exhibitions are constantly changing and the site is frequently refreshed.
